About Mental Floss
Mental floss formed in an emergency in 2000, put together at the
last minute
by drummer Bernie Watts to fill a cancellation.
The initial band also consisted of Maroondogs frontman Bob Coltart
(guitar/vocals) and Brian Heffernan (bass and vocals).
Sadly, Bob died from cancer during 2001 and since then at each
gig the band
has played one of his songs and continues in his style by accepting
requests
from the audience. The lineup has changed from time to time, Mental
Floss
consists of Bernie Watts (drums/vocals) , Chris Barwell (guitar/vocals)
and
various bass player's sitting in.
Their versatility sees them playing material from the beatles,
to the
ferocious sounds of the jam, on to the legendary police.
And their repetoire doesn't end there. They also do covers from
the
stereophonics and loudmouth rock stars Oasis.
The band write their own material which is occasionally dropped
into their
gigs.
Don't miss them.
Bernie has left Mental Floss in August 2007.
